Work Parties

As well as campaigning for better cycling and walking conditions, sometimes we take matters in to our own hands. Where conditions are especially bad and where we can make an immediate impact, we do. So if there’s a path where the vegetation is particularity overgrown, or leaves making a surface slippy, we arm ourselves with shovels, rakes and elbow grease to make things better.

. . . and after. All very satisfying!

At the moment our focus is on the Maxwelltown Railway Path and linking routes. Working with dog walkers, commuters and locals we’re tackling the path a section at a time. There’s even a Friends Of Maxwelltown Path (FOMP) group.

We usually meet the first Sunday of the month at 11am and carry on until 12:30 or 1pm. There’s also the option to head over to Dumfries Farmers’ Market at the railway station, as a well deserved treat afterwards.  Please see below for our planned Work Parties and stay up to date by following our blog and facebook page.
