Kingholm Loop

Get started with the easiest of rides! Just over three miles and all mostly on the level. Largely on traffic-free riverside paths, with a stop for cake (and possibly ice cream) outside the Robert Burns Centre. Click on the map for more details

This will follow on from our Family Cycling event at the bandstand in Dock Park. We will assemble at the entrance to Dock Park, right by the car park. We’ll take the riverside path down to Kingholm Quay then return either back along the path or on Kingholm Road past the skate park and the allotments (depending on how people feel about riding on the road). At the Kirkpatrick McMillan Bridge we’ll cross over to the other side and cycle up as far as the Robert Burns Centre, then back over the Suspension Bridge (wheeling our bikes) and back to Dock Park.

Three miles might seem a long way until you cycle it – and then you’ll realise it’s not! We’ll take this at a really leisurely pace so it will be a gentle start for anyone who hasn’t got their bike out of the shed for a while – or is still wondering if cycling is for them. Suitable for all ages, although children under 12 should be accompanied by an adult.

Meet at Dock Park Saturday at 2pm.
