Dumfries Northwest (Lochside Church) are offering a monthly Fuel Up Friday on the last Friday of every month between April and September – turn up on a bike between 7:30 and 9 am and, for a suggested donation of around £3, enjoy a hot or cold breakfast, and a chance to meet other cyclists and share news, views and tales of the road. Due to kitchen restrictions, the breakfast will not include any bacon – but there should be egg rolls, fresh tea and coffee, and even porridge.
Northwest Church are doing this to encourage cycling and healthy lifestyles in the area, not as an evangelical thing – there won’t be any preaching with your breakfast and cyclists of all faiths and none will be welcome. Cycling Dumfries members will be helping out on the day and will be there if you want to raise any issues or concerns you’d like us to take up. We’ll also be encouraging
Whether you cycle past anyway, or need to take a bit of a detour, we hope you’ll stop by to enjoy a bite to eat and a chance to chat. If they are a success the breakfasts should become a regular feature – and a good way to build a cycling community in the town, so please do lend your support.
