As part of the overall Bike in the Park event, Cycling Dumfries will be holding a series of led rides from various points around the town into Dock Park. Anyone who’d like to get to the event by bike but who doesn’t feel confident riding there on their own can come and join the ride – it’s always much more fun to ride in company than alone (and it can be safer too).
The rides will be at a very easy pace – nobody will get left behind. They will be fairly short too, about three or four miles (if that sounds a lot, trust us, you’ll be there before you know it). We’ll be taking the safest routes, along traffic-free paths wherever possible. Best of all, taking the ride will earn you a sticker for your event card, which you can trade in for great freebies on the day.
We’re still working out the details – it depends on how many volunteers we get and what the level of interest is. We’ll add the details of each ride as we confirm them. If you’re interested – either in volunteering to lead a ride, or to attend one of these (or if there’s a route you’d like us to cover), get in touch either via the comments below or by emailing us at CyclingDumfries AT gmail DOT com.
