Every year we hold an AGM before the winter closes in to elect or re-elect our officers, check our finances, look back on the year past and plan for the future. It’s useful for us, and a nice way of reflecting on our progress, if any, or at least the fun we’ve had.
But if that all sounds a bit boring (whose heart ever soared at the words ‘Annual General Meeting’?) then this year we thought we’d throw in two components guaranteed to pique a cyclist’s interest: a bike ride, and cake.
All current, lapsed and prospective members (come on, it’s only £5 a year!) are therefore invited to our inaugural AGBRM (annual general bike ride and meeting) on Sunday 9th October. It won’t be a very long and arduous ride – just a nice spin around the autumn countryside at our usual gentle speed – followed by tea/coffee and cake (and the meeting part) afterwards at the Rutherford’s in Dumfries.
Meet at Dock Park at 2pm for the ride, with the meeting part commencing at approximately 3:30 (we will return to Dock Park to pick up any stragglers).
