Last of the Winter Rides … start of the spring planning

wood burning stove at Loch Arthur

Hopefully we won’t be in quite such need of the wood burning stove this time …

It may not feel like it out on the bike at the moment, but winter is drawing to a close and with it our winter ride. This Saturday we’ll be doing the popular run out to Loch Arthur along the Glen Road and the Old Military Road, with a stop off at the cafe for excellent locally sourced and sustainable (and sustaining) food. Join us at Dock Park at 10 on Saturday morning for a relaxed ride through some great scenery

And then, as March begins, we crank into gear again: we’ll be meeting on Tuesday 3rd of March at the Coach and Horses at 6pm as usual, and then we plan to be at the Environment Fair on Saturday 14th March, running our popular Brompton (folding) racing event and spreading the word about our work and cycling in the town.

Then on Friday 20th March, we’re planning on inviting local politicians (and electoral candidates) on an informal ride to explore some of the cycling issues in the town, particularly the route to the new hospital. Last time we did this (for the council elections) it was a great success – eye-opening for the politicians, and a chance for people to chat informally about the problems they were encountering in the town. If you’re free around about 4pm,  we hope you can join us – watch this space for more details.
