Queen Street ‘Ride along’ with Sustrans

Many of you will be aware that Sustrans are doing a Street Design project in the area around Queen Street in Dumfries. It’s mainly about improving the quality of life of the residents who live in the area, but it should have an impact on those who cycle through there, or would like to. At the moment, Shakespeare Street is a major barrier to bikes getting to and from that quarter of the town, and we’re hopeful that there will be some improvement that will make crossing it, if not cycling along it, easier on foot or on a bike.

They’re keen to get some local cyclists’ input into the scheme, so if you’re interested, please join us and Sustrans on a short ‘ride along’ to explore the area from a cycling perspective.  We’ll be meeting at 2pm on Thursday 6th February, outside the Theatre Royal.

If you can’t make it then drop us a line or add a comment with anything you’d like the team to know and we’ll pass it on. Meanwhile you can read more about the project – and see some of the draft designs – in the latest newsletter

Can’t make it that day, as I’m hopefully attending a Sustrans induction course in Glasgow.
