Summer Splash!

Well, we were supposed to be exploring the Caledonian Cycleway today …

Sheltering under a bridge

As we got onto the Maxwelltown railway path, the heavens opened and the thunder and lightning began – what a downpour! Some folk were caught on the hop because it had been a lovely sunny day just ten minutes before

We stuck it out for a while, counting the seconds between flashes of lightning and peals of thunder, hoping the rain would stop but it soon became clear that the rain had set in. We decided to let discretion be the better part of valour and cut the ride short, although we did still use the new contraflow on Newall Terrace. Very wet – but still smiling – we dashed through town and back to the safety of the cafe in Dock park.

Well done to everyone who turned up and stuck it out – here’s hoping next week will bring sunnier weather. The ‘summer’ continues…
